Known for their distinctive blue, gray and white uniforms, smiling faces and positive demeanors, the Memphis cheerleading team leads the crowds at U of M athletic events by performing a combination of cheers, stunts and high-flying basketball tosses. In addition to their game-day duties, the U of M cheer squads also compete on the national level in the D1A Small Coed division of the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA). Memphis’ large coed team claimed the 2013 title topping fellow national powerhouses Kentucky and Alabama, and have posted consecutive top 10 finishes since the national championship started. The All Girl cheer team won 2 titles between 2004-2012 and had consecutive top 4 finishes in other years. Since entering the Small Coed division, they have won 5 national titles in the last 9 years.
